The museum, located in Peterborough, Ontario, contains the greatest collection of canoes anywhere.
The Upper-Gatineau Whitewater Festival
This festival is held at the end of August each year to publicize the need to save rivers from unneeded dams.
Adventure Agent, Snow Road Station
This organization offers kayak and canoe lessons, trips and tours with several options. It is located about an hour from Kingston and Ottawa, only a few minutes from Sharbot Lake and Lanark. Kayak and canoe trips and tours are held on the Clyde and Mississippi Rivers and include canoe and kayak instruction. They can also help you plan bike, bird, ski, snowshoe or other trips. Canoe Songs
Two CDs of canoe songs by various artists, including Bruce Cockburn and Nancy White. You can listen to samples by clicking on the website. The price of each CD is $20.00. A portion of the proceeds is sent to the Canadian Canoe Museum.

Treasure Island Sea Kayaking
Organized trips each week from Treasure Island (just east of Kingston) down the St. Lawrence River. All equipment is provided.
Rideau Trail Association
This organization maintains the hiking trail between Kingston and Ottawa. Through its local groups in Kingston, Perth and Ottawa, the association organizes hikes in the area.

In June 2007, UNESCO designated the Rideau Canal as a World Heritage Site. The website shown here has a host of information about the area, with many interesting and useful links.
Paddle 1000
A detailed and attractive website about canoeing and kayaking on the Canadian side of the Thousand Islands. It provides maps and other information in a guidebook format of nine water trails in the area.
